Ask rather than assume when you are staying outside those areas — sometimes it works and sometimes the honest answer is that coming to the shop will be quicker for you than waiting for us to reach you. The shop itself is a fixed address you can walk into without booking, and where to find us in Bangtao has the map and the directions.

What we bring

• The cloth books. The same ranges that are on the shelves in the shop, so the choice is not narrowed by the visit.
• A tape, chalk and pins — the measuring is identical to the measuring done in the shop, around twenty measurements plus posture.
• Your pattern, if you already have one with us, so a repeat order starts from what already fitted rather than from scratch.
• Sample garments where they help, particularly for deciding a cut you cannot easily describe.
• The garment itself at a later fitting, in a bag rather than folded, so it arrives in the state it left in.
• A written quote, so the price is agreed before anything is cut rather than afterwards.

What we cannot bring is the mirror wall and the full stock room. If you want to handle a lot of cloth before deciding, the first appointment is better at the shop and the later ones better at your hotel.

How much notice we need

How much notice a visit needs depends on what is already booked that day, so the answer comes back with the appointment rather than as a fixed rule. The constraint is not travel but the workshop: someone leaving the shop to visit you is someone not cutting, so an appointment arranged in advance costs you less waiting than one arranged on the spot.

Tell us the date you arrive and the date you fly when you first message, rather than only the time you would like. That is what lets us put the appointments in the right order for your trip instead of the order they were asked for.

What happens after the fitting

You are quoted, the terms are put in writing, and you decide afterwards. The fitting is not the transaction, which is the part visitors most often expect to go differently.

The garment is cut at the shop once you go ahead, and the next appointment is arranged around your days — at your hotel again, or at the shop if you would rather see it there. If your flight moves, tell us as early as you can: depending on the stage the garment has reached we can usually either bring the finishing forward or complete it after you leave and send it on. What it costs

The same as it costs in the shop. There is no visit fee, no minimum order attached to the travel, and no different price list for a fitting held in a hotel room — the published figures on what a garment costs here are the figures either way. What a visit costs is our time rather than your money, which is the whole reason the areas above are named rather than left open.
