Suits

A two-piece starts at ฿7,000 and a three-piece at ฿9,500, with wedding suits quoted per person.

Within a suit the ladder is construction and cloth rather than a package of extras:

• Core — ฿7,000. Quality wool-blend cloth, half-canvas construction, two fittings. A sharp, dependable suit.
• Standard — ฿12,000. Premium pure wool, refined details, two to three fittings.
• Signature — ฿18,000+. Full-canvas construction and top-tier cloth.

Shirts, trousers and casual pieces

Shirts start at ฿1,500 and tailored casual at ฿2,500 — the two cheapest things made here, and the usual first commission.

Shirts are the cheapest thing here to get right and the sensible first commission if you are unsure the whole idea is worth it. Several ordered together cost less of your time than the same shirts ordered separately, because the measuring session covers them all at once.

Women’s garments

A dress starts at ฿6,500 and a ladies’ suit or blazer at ฿7,000, drafted rather than graded from a size.

Womenswear is drafted rather than graded, and it usually takes one more fitting than menswear because there is more shaping to decide. Occasion wear and copies of a garment you already own are quoted the same way.

Alterations

Alterations start at ฿300, and that is the only alterations figure we publish.

This is one published figure rather than a list because the price depends on which seams are involved rather than on what the garment is. A hem and a waist sit at the cheap end; sleeves from the shoulder or a jacket body reshaped are substantially more. Ask for an itemised figure on the garment — alterations to a garment you already own sets out what is possible and what is not.

What changes the figure

Cloth, construction, the number of fittings, and how many pieces you order. Those four move every figure above, and none of them is the shop’s postcode.

• The cloth. The largest single variable, and the one you control most directly. A house wool-blend and a fine pure wool are different money for the same cut.
• The construction. The invisible one. A fused jacket front is glued by machine in minutes; a canvas is stitched by a person over hours. It explains most of the difference between two quotes that look identical, which is why what canvas construction changes is worth reading before you compare any two.
• The number of fittings. Each appointment is time, and time is the second-largest cost after cloth. One fitting is cheaper than three, and in most cases it is a worse garment.
• The pieces and the detail. A waistcoat, a second trouser, working cuffs or a specific lining are each additive and each quotable separately.

What every price includes

Every figure above covers all of this, whichever tier you choose:

• A full measurement session, taken by the person who will fit you.
• A pattern cut on the premises rather than an order sent elsewhere.
• Access to the cloth books, with the weight and weave advice that goes with them.
• Two to three fittings, at the shop or at your hotel across Bangtao, Cherngtalay, Laguna and Surin, at no extra charge.
• The lapel, vent, pocket, lining and cuff decisions — decisions, not upgrades.
• The construction named in writing before you pay a deposit.
• A quote confirmed in full before anything is cut, which does not move afterwards unless you change the order.
• Alterations to our own work afterwards, treated as part of the job rather than as new work.

How we compare with Patong and Kata

Tailoring prices on this island cover a very wide range, and ours sit toward the lower end of it. That is worth being suspicious about rather than pleased by, so here is the explanation: the starting tier is half-canvas in a wool-blend with two fittings, and it is priced as exactly that rather than presented as a bargain version of something dearer. We do not publish a figure for the top of the local market, because we would be quoting somebody else’s price list from memory.

The district itself does not set the price. A shop in a busy southern strip does not necessarily charge more, and a quieter one does not necessarily charge less — what moves the figure is what is inside the jacket and how many times you come back for it.
